My name is Peadar Murphy and I am a accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, and member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP) and therefore work according to their strict code of ethics and am committed to continual personal and professional development and I engage in ongoing external supervision. I am also an accredited Supervisor with IACP.
This means I am constantly updating my skills and keeping up to date with new practice and theory to ensure the best service and care for all my clients. I use an integrative method to Counselling that combines a person centered approach with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). In using this humanistic process to nurture a trusting relationship with clients, I find they are able to express their inner feelings and explore and clarify the issues presented and learn to let the healing process commence. I achieve this by really listening and showing great empathy for the client.
I deal with a range of issues that are presented and you can check these out on our services page although it is not an exhaustive list. I am also a trained facilitator in dealing with clients affected by domestic violence and am part of current ongoing DV programs. I strongly believe in the Counselling and healing process and hope I can be of assistance to you.
